Leadership Experience
Ashley Moon is an interdisciplinary designer, born and raised in Helena, Montana. Moon is a strong advocate for creative integrity and firmly believes problem solving is most effective through creative strategy. She sees the immense potential that design plays in the public sector and the empowerment of citizens.
Moon currently works at the Montana Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) as a Media Specialist in the Commissioner's Office and also runs her own freelance design business, A.Moon Design. She has been instrumental in establishing brand standards and implementing communication strategies for DLI. Her work with DLI also extends to designing special projects for the Governor's Office, Main Street Montana Project and symposiums, and the Equal Pay for Equal Work Montana Taskforce.
Her undergraduate graphic design thesis 'Functional Forms' at Montana State University was a study and comprehensive redesign of public assistance forms to not only demonstrate the potential of good design, but also improve our government's processes through design thinking, empowerment, and efficiency.
She is deeply dedicated to whatever community she is in. While in Bozeman (2009-2014) she was executive editor of Theory Magazine, participated in Occupy Bozeman, the Wildfire Collective, Bad Seed Art Fair, and still contributes to Bozeman Soup. She was also a resident artist at Popp's Packing in Detroit, Michigan in 2014.
In Helena, Moon keeps busy with her job, freelancing, art projects and contributing to community events.
