Sheena Rice is the lead organizer and lobbyist for the Montana Organizing Project, a coalition of faith, labor and community organizations organizing at the grassroots for economic, social, and racial justice. Sheena was born and raised in Butte, Montana and graduated from Montana State University with highest honors earning degrees in Philosophy and Political Science. She has previously worked as an organizer with US PIRG working on tenant/landlord issues, health care, higher education and clean energy. In 2008 she directed a Community Voters Project office in Toledo, Ohio registering over 16,000 new minority and low income voters. Personally, Sheena is an advocate for victims of rape and sexual violence, and is aiming to reduce victim blaming language and policies in the justice system. Outside of organizing, Sheena is a freelance writer for Noise and Color magazine and the volunteer coordinator for Magic City Blues Fest.
