Since that time she has served as a Program Manager for Montana Campus Compact and invested eight years working with Montana Conservation Corps, earning the title of Director of Programs. In 2015, after nearly 10 years of consulting on the side, Shannon launched Verve Exchange to focus on delivering high-impact learning experiences full-time.
In addition to her professional leadership roles, Shannon has volunteered extensively with community organizations and held the following volunteer leadership positions: Bozeman Youth Initiative Board Chair, Forward Montana Board Member, Governor-Appointed Chair for the Committee for Change by Women, State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign Advisory Council Member, Helena Youth Advisory Council Member, AmeriCorps Member Advisory Council Chair, and National Corps Rendezvous Chair. In 2014, Shannon was the recipient of the AmeriCorps Alumni Local Leadership Award.
How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse
I believe that learning, growing, and connecting are of the highest importance, and I am an active seeker of opportunities to exchange verve with people who inspire me!
- Listen to your gut. When I think back on my life there are a handful of key decisions I made that really put on me the path that I’m on, and not a single one of those positions penciled out or made sense on paper. If I hadn't followed my gut I may have missed my path.
- Fail fast and fail often. Failing is going to happen, so you might as well get it out of the way and learn from it.
- Don’t take yourself too seriously. We limit ourselves and growth potential when we take ourselves too seriously. Let the experience we call life be fun
