Leadership Experience

Britt Ide, President of Ide Energy & Strategy, has over 25 years experience as an engineering, business and legal leader working on all sides of energy issues including with associations (AGA, EPRI, EEI), large industrial users (Boise Cascade), large commercial users (Albertsons), utilities (including Idaho Power, LA Department of Water & Power, PacifiCorp, Columbia Gas, NorthWestern Energy), regulators and environmental groups. She an experienced facilitator of solutions and has Certificates in Mediation from Harvard and in Multi-Party Negotiation of Environmental Disputes from the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution.

Britt serves as a Clean Energy Ambassador for the US Department of Energy and is on the Fulbright Roster of Specialists. She served as the outside Chair of the Board of Directors of PCS Edventures, a public company that sells experiential science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education tools. Her current board service includes: Hotrock Energy Research Organization (furthering Enhanced Geothermal Systems) and the Responsible Business Initiative at Boise State University. Britt was also appointed by Montana’s Governor Bullock to the Clean Power Plan Advisory Council and serves on the NorthWestern Energy’s Infrastructure Stakeholder Group.

Britt holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Environmental Engineering and a Juris Doctor, and has outstanding strategic, communication and consensus-building skills.

How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse

I would like to connect women across the state, encourage mentorship of young women (especially in STEM fields), and further the Montana economy. I hope to help with Mentor Mondays in Big Sky!
