Leadership Experience

Keriann is the marketing communications manager for Waterford Institute, a nonprofit research center and technology company that creates computer-based curriculum for early grades. She also does various freelance and side projects, including acting as a senior editor for I Want Her Job and managing editor for Contently.

A journalism major, Keriann was one of the original team of reporters at Northwest Montana newspaper startup, The Flathead Beacon. A teaching fellowship drew her to Salt Lake City and the University of Utah, where she completed a master’s degree in communication and taught undergraduate courses, first as a grad student and then as an adjunct instructor. She has also previously worked as the managing editor at Alliance Health, a health technology company that creates and manages disease-specific, online social health communities.

How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse

I love connecting talented people, and appreciate the support and learning that can take place when motivated, engaged communities come together. Also, as a Montana native and telecommuter, I’m passionate about building professional opportunities – virtual and physical – in my home state, so that young professionals feel able and encouraged to live and grow here.
