Throughout my 11 years as a 4-H member in Choteau, Montana I gained leadership experience in my small rural community. I volunteered at the local food pantry, collected gifts for underprivileged children at Christmas, served as my club Vice President and President, and taught youth sewing classes as a 4-H ambassador.
More recently, I have been involved in the Helena community. At Carroll College, I served on the Senior Grateful Saints board, volunteered on Governor Steve Bullock’s campaign in 2012, and volunteered at the Helena YWCA to help with promotional materials. In 2016, I was the communications/PR specialist on the Helena Young Professionals board and I currently serve on the Civic Center board.
How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse
Building relationships with other professional women is something I look forward to doing now that I am a young professional in Helena. Even though I have been here for six years, the transition from college student to professional has been challenging. I have mentors that have helped me every step of the way and given me the confidence I need to pursue my dreams, and I hope to someday do the same for a young woman. I want to participate in PowerHouse in order to expand my network and build positive relationships with professional women throughout the state.
