How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse
I have been lucky to already be part of PowerHouse and would like to continue my work with this group. I enjoy doing the Mentor Mondays and I would like to help other woman however I can.
I love to travel, drink wine, eat great food, read, sports, and sci-fi. The job I have right now is a dream job, so I love what I do. My husband is a farmer, so I have learned a lot about that industry and owning your own business. We have a dog, Maisy, who keeps us laughing.
What motivates and inspires you? Seeing the world and learning from others. I get excited over ideas and how we can help each other, as well the communities we live in.
Who are your sheroes? My mom and my aunt. Both my mom and my aunt were role models of different types of women and how to be your own person. Plus, the support they give each other and our families. I am sure there are others (especially from books), but these two have made the biggest impact in my life.
What technology do you love and recommend to others? What about books, ideas or podcasts? I love my iPad and the ability to do so much on it. Books – I read everything just about from books related to my job to vampires and witches. My favorite podcast is The West Wing Weekly – one of my all-time favorite shows. The podcast goes in-depth about each episode. Also, recently discovered Audible and listened to all the Harry Potter books.
How do you reboot? Travel the world, Paddleboard, read, eat good food, drink excellent wine. I love to do stuff with my husband, family and friends, but I also love being alone and reading. I have never been one to be afraid to do stuff on my own.
What is your biggest accomplishment? This is hard, but I think it has been creating a life here in Montana. Somewhere I never expected to live and somewhere that I feel like I have made a difference.
What is the biggest career risk you’ve ever taken? Moved to Montana – this was a big life risk in general.
Words of wisdom you want to share with Montana women? Discover who you are and then be that person. Don’t let others decide who or what you should be. Lame I know, but this is really something I have discovered in the past couple of years and it causes me to have way less stress. Or as my friend says, just don’t give a f***.
