I interpret and understand the needs, mission, and vision of a forward thinking, high achieving, 21st century school district while translating those needs into communication and technology strategies and solutions that are enduring and of high quality.

I lead and work collaboratively with MCPS stakeholders including staff, students, parents, and the broader Missoula community to establish, gain commitment to, and sustain information technology, instructional technology, media relations, public information, and overall communications.

Director

Lone Peak High School

(2 years)Big Sky, MT

I coordinated the independent learning programs of twenty students who completed online course work at Indiana University of Brigham Young University. As part of the school, I developed an experiential curriculum that exposed the students to scientists, artists, businesses and subject specific tutors. I managed a $100,000 budget and supervised four to five staff and independent contractors.

Senior Associate

JVA Consulting, LLC

(2 years)Denver, CO

I worked directly with non-profit clients to help them maximize their program effectiveness. I also worked to market and position new business lines for the company in national markets. I provided market analysis and a marketing plan for the company. I facilitated board retreats and assisted clients with strategic planning. I also edited the company’s monthly print newsletter that reached over five hundred clients.

Founding Board Member

Northwest Parents for Excellent Schools

(3 years)Denver, CO

Along with ten other committed activist parents, I created a nonprofit whose mission was improving the education for all students in the Northwest Quadrant of Denver. This area of the city had long suffered from the institutional racism of low expectations and our schools were closing due to low performance and low enrollment. Our group forced Denver Public Schools to take notice of the neighborhood flight and fix their schools. Ten neighborhood schools in our area were revitalized and saw enrollment and achievement increases during my five years as a board member. I worked as a grassroots organizer and mobilizer of families and students throughout the city.

How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse

I would love to mentor one person and find a great mentor for myself. I can chart the decades/life phases of my own life with three powerful mentors. I would love to find a new mentor that can support me in my current adventures.
