Courtney Buys spent a year serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Montana Primary Care Association working on the Cover Montana project; increasing awareness, understanding, and utilization of Montana’s affordable health insurance options for low-income Montanans. Upon finishing her term of service in July of 2016, Courtney started a new adventure at the Montana Primary Care Association as Public Health Project Manager; working on quality improvement measures to increase preventable disease screening in Montana’s Community Health Centers.
Courtney received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont in Sociology with an emphasis on Health Care Policy. While an undergraduate Courtney founded and directed a residential learning community that provided mentorship, networking and leadership opportunities to pre-health profession students.
In her free time, she can be found hiking, doing yoga (badly), or spoiling her two dogs Maxi and Bobo.
How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse
I have had the incredible opportunity to work with smart, capable, amazing women for all of my professional life. I am looking to continue to learn from more of these women and pass along the knowledge and support that I have to offer.
