I am a Government Relations Specialist with KLJ, making a significant career shift two years ago after twenty-nine years in human services management
Government Relations Specialist
- Community Organizer
- Human Services
I have a background in public communication including mediation and facilitation as well as some marketing and community organizing. I am a professional grant writer and technical writer with a background in non-profit and government communications. I have extensive experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and in non-profit, for-profit and government coordination.
I have been employed with KLJ for just under two years in the Government Relations Division where I have taken the lead in a number of community facilitation and grant writing projects. Prior to employment at KLJ, I was the Chief Operating Officer for The Center for Children and Families, a regional mental health and substance abuse treatment facility of which I was a founding member (merging two prior agencies to form). I served as the initial Coordinator for the Yellowstone Family Drug Treatment Court, the first family drug court in Montana and, in that position presented at numerous national conferences. I am a graduate of the Women’s Addiction Service Leadership Institute and a certified FAST Facilitator. I currently serve on the Board for the Montana Association of Female Executives.
How I Want to Participate in PowerHouse
I am interested in the opportunity to connect with and learn from other powerful and empowering women. I would like to participate in the various educational opportunities available and, I also believe, I have knowledge and insights I would like to share with young professionals. I’m also interested in being associated with a group whose mission it is to empower women to leadership.
I am a life long learner and have spent my career seeking opportunities for learning and also opportunities to connect people to one another in common goals. I believe in the power of groups and collaboration and also in the power of mentoring. I look forward to the opportunity to continue my own growth and share what I’ve learned with others.
